She is survived by her third husband, George Womble of Prescott. The family moved to Phoenix, AZ, in 1956, where she and John acquired a business selling health foods, health equipment and hearing aids. Over time, they discontinued all products except for hearing aids and audiology equipment. At that time they were the oldest hearing aid dispenser, 28 years, in Arizona. Marylene was always a leader wherever an opportunity arose from being a church choir director, a PTA President, and involved with organizations allied to her industry, such as the National Federation of Independent Business, State and National Hearing Aid Societies. Marylene and John were instrumental in the establishment of State certification/licensing of hearing aid dispensers. In 1988 she retired from the position of Executive Director of the Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences. She also served many years on the Beatitudes Senior Living Campus Auxilliary while a resident of the Beatitudes. In 2008 she was elected to the Board of Directors of the Education Scholarship Endowment of Yavapai County, after she moved to Las Fuentes Resort Village, Prescott, AZ, in 2007. Her natural survivors include three sons; Frederick, Richard, and John II (Cindy), six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A private interment will be held at Greenwood Memory Lawn in Phoenix. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 25, 1:30 PM at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 5105 N. 7th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85013.
