He is survived by his Auntie Loretta Sanders and cousins Demoore Sanders, DeAnthony Sanders and Demitri Sanders. He is survived by his uncle Jerry Sanders, Auntie Veron Sanders and cousins Kristy Sanders-Bynum and Adrian Sanders-Bragg.
Maurice loved his sports. He was a TRUE fan of the Arizona Cardinal and the Miami Heat, so much so that it could have been a day job for him.
Maurice and his son Jaylen enjoyed watching football and basketball every chance they could. Jaylen is a basketball fanatic because of his Dad and his love for the game. Playing video games was also something Jaylen and his Dad had in common, while Arianna sat in Maurice’s’ lap quietly just watching them. Izzy Izzy was Jaylen’s nickname his Dad gave him years ago and even though Jaylen was not a fan of the nickname he would still laugh and smile when his Dad called him Izzy Izzy.
Maurice also loved his girls. They could do no wrong in his eyes. SaNiya enjoyed watching the old school cartoons with him like "Pink Panther" and "Charlie Brown" his nickname for SaNiya was "BABY GIRL". She's just like her Dad. She loves to make people laugh and she is so silly. Arianna on the other hand had her Daddy wrapped around her finger. He had so much patience with her. He called her D LOVE. They were together 24/7.
He was a wonderful father and spent so much time with his children, wrestling (even though Victoria was not a fan of the wrestling), playing video games and basketball and just simply trying to enjoy life to the fullest.
Maurice brought so much joy into everyone’s life and always had a smile on his face. The things he would come up with could make the grumpiest old man laugh out loud. Those are some of the many things we will miss and always love about Maurice. “His Family” which some of you knew he referred to his “Medical” card as, was the backbone of his plan to go back to school and become certified to work in a dispensary.
His love for his family was present every day in what he did and said. He would do anything for his family without hesitation. He took care of his children and Victoria to the best of his ability whether it was cooking, cleaning, rubbing their feet or calling them their silly nicknames. Maurice was a prime example of a wonderful father to his children and best friend to Victoria “His Big Head”.
