Melvin James Leach

LEACH, Melvin James “JIM” of Phoenix (formerly of Downers Grove, Illinois) passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015. He was born in Pocahontas, Illinois September 18, 1926. He served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII. Jim received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois at Champaign. He retired after 39 years in research and development with Automatic Electric/GTE/Siemens. Jim Leach is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy (Schmidt) and children; Deborah, Nancy Stellmach (Gary deceased,) Betty Sahs (Dale) and David (Carrie); grandchildren; Kimberly Riley (Shaun,) Bradley Sahs (deceased,) Rachel Barrett and Geoff Sahs; step-grandchildren Sara, Catherine and Kyle; step-great grandchildren Payton and Taylor. A memorial service will be held at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 3030 E. Thunderbird Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85032, on Friday, November 13th at 10:30am.
