Michael (Mike) Joseph Bobik,60, of Anthem Arizona, passed away after an overwhelming, yet valiant fight with cancer, on Tuesday March 12, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday March 24, 2019 at 1pm and service starting 2pm with a reception following at Shadow Mountain Mortuary 2350 East Greenway Road. Arrangements entrusted by Shadow Mountain Mortuary. If you would like to make a donation in Michael Bobik's name in lieu of flowers, please consider Arizona Humane Society.

Mike was born in Schenectady, New York on June 13, 1958 to Joseph and Dorothy Bobik. He moved to Arizona in 1977 where he eventually met the love of his life, Aletta, in 1982. Together they lovingly raised Aletta's two children, Daniel and Teresa from the ages of 1 and 3. He was as much of a dad to Daniel and Teresa as any father could be. Mike was also a doting grandfather to six beautiful grandchildren, Jacob 11, Cara 10, Evan 8, Nathan 5, Wyatt 5, and Mason 5. He was adored immensely by his grandchildren.

Mike was an esteemed residential real estate appraiser, starting his career in the Mid 1980’s after a back injury in his construction job. In 1993, he and his wife, Aletta formed Bobik and Associates Ltd. and built one of the largest and most respected appraisal groups in the Metro Phoenix Area. This legacy lives on today under the name Marketwise Appraisal, which is owned by his son, Daniel.

Mike was an avid golfer and had played hundreds of golf courses in Arizona and around the US and was known to be a scratch player. He also enjoyed spending time on the sidelines at his grandsons football games, cheering on his granddaughters volleyball games, listening to the amazing ideas and inventions from his grandson, or playing on the floor with the littlest of his grandsons.

Mike always made sure his family was taken care of from caring for his mother (Dorothy), being a listening ear for his sisters (Karen and Michele), to being a tremendous support for his wife and kids. He looked for the good in every person he met. He was a positive ray of light in the lives of everyone he touched. Mike truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; watching a favorite show with his wife and mother, hanging out with his sisters laughing and reminiscing, being with his grandchildren and kids, and playing golf with his buddies. Mike will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Aletta; mother, Dorothy; sister, Karen; sister, Michele; son, Daniel; daughter, Teresa; grandchildren, Jacob, Cara, Evan, Nathan, Wyatt and Mason.

It has taken me quite some time to get the words, the courage and the strength to write something here. Let me first start by saying that Mike Bobik was an incredible man. He loved his family, his animals, his friends, having a good time and of course playing golf. Me and my family have had the honor and the pleasure of knowing Mike, Aletta, Danny and Teresa for over 30 years. I've known them most of my life. Teresa and I and Dan and my brother Ivan grew up with one another. They are family to me. We've been through good times together, bad times and even some surprising times. Since I've known them, Mike has always been a hard worker. He was very successful in his life. Always opened his doors to people. I saw how much he loved Aletta, Danny and Teresa, his mother Dorothy, Aunt Karen, Aunt Michelle, all of his grandchildren and all of their family and friends so very dearly. He had a giving heart and loved to work hard and play hard and just enjoy his life in general. He always had a sense of being healthy and lived that out loud. Words can't even begin to express how much he will be dearly missed. The love and kindness and fun he shared with the ones he touched will live on forever and will never be forgotten. Mike you have created a wonderful legacy and a beautiful example of how to live one's life. You were an amazing man! Thank you for touching all of our lives! You are so deeply loved and will be so profoundly missed!

How do you heal a heart broken by such a loss?
Mike was always smiling, bubbly and welcoming to everyone he met.
A great step-father, a loving and supportive husband and son,
And a friend to everyone who had the luck to meet him.
How do you heal a heart broken by such a loss?
By filling it with joyful memories of a great and wonderful man.

When I first met Mike almost 30 years ago, it didn’t take more than 30 seconds to know that he was a total joker, feisty, spent most of his time smiling, and wasn’t letting anyone get away without making them laugh first. There was no escaping his awesome sarcasm, crazy jokes (that could always be taken at least two ways), and the positive spin he would put on anything. Whether at work or play, Mike was the one who always brought enough energy, laughter, and hugs to go around for everyone. He also had a big, honest heart and it was impossible to not have both a smile on your face and feel good after being around him. ~Godspeed, Mike!~

Wonderful and fond memories of the entire Bobik family growing up in the same neighborhood in Burnt Hills, NY. Mike and I were best friends in our young years - two inseparable kids, just clowning around and having fun. Heartwarming to see how he went on to create the full and beautiful life that he and Aletta have. Deepest condolences to Dorothy, Karen, Michele and Mike's loving wife, children, and grandchildren. May your love and memories someday be greater than the loss.

I had the privilege to work with Mike at Wells Fargo. Even though I did not get the chance to know Mike as well as many others, I am willing to bet he was always the "life" of the party! Mike always had a way of connecting with people and always willing to lend a friendly hand. Mike was a fighter and great person with a big heart. Mike will be forever missed.

I remember spending almost every weekend with Teresa at their house in Cave Creek. You would think having high school kids over all the time would get really old...but Mike and Aleeta always welcomed us. We spent hours on the back patio laughing and Mike was quite the joker. My deepest condolences to your family during this difficult time. Sending prayers for peace and comfort. ❤️🙏
