Mike, as he preferred to be called, grew up in Scottsdale, where he attended Tonalea Elementary School and Coronado High School. During that time, he developed an intense passion for Motocross racing and the motorcycle community – a passion that grew throughout his life. He was both a dedicated spectator and an avid participant in the sport.
When he wasn’t riding his dirt bike, Mike was a licensed electrician and owned a home in Phoenix. He was also a strong Christian whose faith and joy never wavered during his eight-year fight with the cancer that brought his life to a too-early end.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Hoffman, and his father, Frank Hoffman. He is survived by his brother, Gary Billey, his sister, Gloria Stankovich, and his nephew, John Stankovich.
Wishing to be near his mother’s grave, Mike was laid to rest in the Garden of Faith section of Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Mike’s gentle, caring spirit will be dearly missed by both his family and friends, and by his church and motorcycle communities.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Mike on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10 a.m. The location is Dream City Church, 13613 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85022, (602) 867-7117.
Please bring your memories of Mike and join in on the celebration of his time on earth.
