Mike was born in Joliet, Illinois, on February 10, 1953, to Louis P. Dailey and La Vona Dailey. He is survived by his sisters, Joann and Pat.
His sister, Linda, and brother, George, preceded him in death.
Mike graduated from Herscher High School, Herscher, Illinois, Class of 1971. He earned a culinary degree at Joliet Culinary School.
Mike has numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much.
Mike married Thomas Drew, in Chicago, on July 27, 2018, sharing a wonderful life together.
Mike used his culinary skills working and managing restaurants in the Chicago land area. He also owned a bar, The Edge, in Blue Island, Illinois.
Mike showed his love towards family and friends by cooking for them. He would not let you leave his home hungry and was very critical of restaurants, telling us how much better and less expensive he could make the same dishes.
His kingdom was the kitchen. He could not be happier there, singing(out of tune) and making an unbelievable mess.
He sponsored a monthly senior lunch group for many years, giving them an opportunity to visit friends and eat a homemade meal.
His wit, fast comebacks, smile, and his "Hollywood hair," will be greatly missed.
Rest in Peace, dear Michial.
Nature and St. Patrick
May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of St. Patrick behold you.
