Mildred Jean Morris, 87, of Glendale, AZ, passed away August 14, 2014. She was born in Nocona, TX on July 24, 1927. Millie graduated from Lubbock High School. She received a cosmetology degree from the Jessie Lee School of Beauty. She was married to Wilburn Morris. Millie worked in the beauty industry for over 40 years. She owned her own salon in Aurora, CO for many years and even when she retired, she still worked at a Beauty Supply Co. She had a passion for her family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved traveling, playing games and fishing. She was survived by her daughter Pat Barfield, Wilburn's children Richard Morris, Ann (Mick) Fox, Phyllis Morris, and along with several of his grandchildren and great granchildren. She was also survived by her grandchildren Greg (Shelley) Turner of McKinney, TX, and Andie (Jack) Mariano of Glendale, AZ; great grandchildren Savannah Cox-Mariano of Glendale, AZ, and Sam and Abbey Turner of McKinney, TX; and her sister Willodean Beard of Mesquite, TX. Mille was preceded in death by her son Lonnie Barfield; grandsons Bill Glaesman and Ben Cox, and granddaughter Carmen "Bitsy" Carter.
Millie had a full and very blessed life. She lived her 87 years being a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She dedicated her life to her family and worked hard throughout the years, catering to everyone and always being selfless. She gave her all 100% of the time, never giving up on anything or anyone. She was full of life and was everyone's "grandma". After moving back to Phoenix in March of this year, she enjoyed doing volunteer work with her daughter at church and school. She was always on the go and hard to keep up with even at her young age of 87. We were blessed to have her join us on summer vacations the last few years enjoying time on the beach in San Diego and spending her birthday at Knott's Berry Farm. May she rest with the Lord now. With all our love... Until we meet again.
