Miles Gethyn Jones

Miles G. Jones was born in 1927 in Pottsville, PA to the late Miles G. Jones and Margaret Jenkins and passed away October 13, 2018 in Glendale, AZ. He was 90 years old. Miles’ two sisters, Sally Bracey and Gwendolyn Grove, preceded him in passing.

Miles is survived by his loving family: his wife, Ninita, his children: Mark D. Jones, Bryan K. Jones (Karen), Barry G. Jones (Linda) and David S. Jones (Debbie), his grandchildren: Lulu (Mark), Benjamin, Alexander and Rachel (Bryan), Elizabeth (Barry), Austin and Isabella (David); and great grandchildren: Jordan and Jace (Lulu), and Elias and Lillian (Benjamin).

Miles and Ninita married on November 15, 1955 and had been married for 63 years. They moved from Los Angeles, CA and settled in Glendale, AZ where Miles was transferred with his company. Miles was a draftsman in the aeronautics field and had a love for music and model trains. Miles sang many years with the Phoenix Chorale and played trumpet for the Glendale Parks band in the summer. He was an excellent musician, playing both the trumpet and French horn.

The viewing will be held on October 27th at 10:00 AM and immediately following at 11:00 AM will be the funeral service at the Advantage Funeral Home in Maryvale at 6901 W. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85033. Reception to follow at Palmcroft Baptist Church at 15825 N 35th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85053.
