Millicent "Dickie" Lacy would like to let the world know her work on Earth is complete. Dickie, 94, of Phoenix, with family by her side, passed away on March 23rd, 2017. Few had a more humble and full life filled with service to the Lord than Dickie. She was born in New Mexico, lived through the struggle of the Great Depression, built her home with her husband Clarence in Phoenix, saw her husband off to war, and raised 5 amazing children. Dickie was proud to work hard, and hard she worked! She'd be the first to tell you as a retiree of Motorola, she worked 22 years without missing a single day to sickness, and she was an amazing mother to her children. For years she worked nights and overtime in order to be there for her children after school and evenings. However to most Dickie is best remembered for her lifelong devotion to God. Dickie spent over 60 years of her life faithfully serving in children's ministries. She adored children and loved to help teach them the ways of the lord. She was an unwavering prayer warrior, and most recently served in prison ministry offering any service that she could provide. Dickie's favorite hobby was gardening, taking time to sow seeds, water and nurture the soil, to finally enjoy the miracle of life in colorful blooms. It's no coincidence flowers were the love of Dickies life, they represented the seeds of life, just like the children she nurtured in the way of the Lord. Dickie was the daughter of Vine and Mary Bush and survived all eight siblings. Dickie is survived by her son Ron Lacy and his wife Debbie, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Although she will be dearly missed, her homecoming in Heaven must have been glorious. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to Dickie’s church for children in need and also to Hospice of the Valley. A Visitation will be held 4:00pm – 8:00pm, Friday, April 7, 2017 in the Chapel at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85009. A Funeral Service will be held 10:00am, Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Calvary Church of the Valley, 6107 N. Invergordon Road, Paradise Valley, Arizona 85253. Interment will be held 10:00am, Monday, April 10, 2017 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85009.
