Muriel M. Stielow peacefully departed this life on October 2, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on February 19, 1923 and worked as a homemaker and administrative assistant at Carthage College prior to her retirement in Surprise, Arizona. Mrs. Stielow was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Marland J. Stielow (US Navy, MR2 WWII, Korea).
Mrs. Stielow is survived by daughter Deborah A. “Daisy” Anderson (David) of Wittmann, Arizona and Nathalie, Virginia, sister Virginia J. Hunter of Colorado Springs, Colorado and brother Ralph Ruffalo (Shirley) of Kenosha, Wisconsin and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will be profoundly missed.
Mrs. Stielow will join her husband for internment at the the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road Phoenix, AZ 85024. A memorial service will be held on-site Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at 12:30 PM.
Muriel was a lifelong advocate for the ethical treatment of animals. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the donors’ local humane society.
