After her brave battle with lung cancer, Myra Lenore Banes, 72, went home to be with the Lord Jesus October 9, 2014. Myra, eldest of seven siblings, was born in Springfield, Ohio on March 12, 1942. In 1952, her father moved the family and business, Beall’s Plumbing and Air Conditioning, to Phoenix, Arizona. Myra learned bookkeeping from her grandmother and married Wayne R. Francis at the young age of 17. During their 15-year marriage, they had three children together.
Myra later married her late husband, Robert Banes whom she worked with at Beall’s Plumbing. For 37 years, Myra and "Bob" were constant companions in work, family and leisure. They kept busy raising their eight children, running the plumbing company, and serving their Lord together at North Phoenix Baptist Church. With their free moments together, they savored the beauty of God’s creation as they traveled and fished the many lakes of Northern Arizona, Montana, and Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her father James Robert Beall, mother Edna Meissner Beall-Bugbee, husbands Wayne Francis and Robert Banes, infant son Jeffery Francis, and infant grandson Derek Michael. She leaves behind four sisters, Peggy, Julie, Karen, and Crystal, her two brothers Edward and Alan, her eight children Steve, Mike (Mara), Rick, Brenda, Cynthia (Brian), Dale, Chris, and Jennifer (Vincent), 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
