Naomi Frances Oglesby was proud to be a Phoenix native, born on June 23, 1940 in Phoenix, AZ to parents Edwin Francis and Naomi Freeman Oglesby. She passed away at 84 years old with her beloved family by her side. Naomi grew up the eldest of two brothers, Richard “Dick” Oglesby, and William “Bill” Oglesby and was a member of the first graduating class to attend all four years at Camelback High School Class of ‘58. Naomi always considered herself to be a proud Spartan! She received her associate degree at Phoenix College and attended college at McMurray College in Abilene, Texas, where her grandparents lived. Upon returning to Phoenix, she began her 42-year career with First National Bank. Naomi retired from the Central and Grant branch in downtown Phoenix in 2001. After some health issues Naomi moved into the Arizona Grand 2011 and to the Beatitudes Campus in 2013 where she was an active participant in resident life. Naomi was always very active in her church community as well and had a strong and inspiring faith. She loved her family and many many friends. Naomi was an avid reader, a classic movie buff and loved Broadway shows, traveling, adventures and having fun. Her laugh was contagious, and she knew how to bring life, humor and joy wherever she was. Among her many gifts, Naomi’s most powerful was her radiant ability to connect with people and make them laugh and feel loved. Naomi is survived by her youngest brother William “Bill” Oglesby, her nieces Malia Weeks, Molly Oglesby and Erin Oglesby Bustamante and her nephew Patrick Oglesby.
