She was born on January 7, 1932, in Bay City, Michigan. Throughout her life, Nina Mae Swaton was devoted to her family and held close the moments that brought everyone together. She was a devoted wife to her late husband, James Swaton, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband, James, and her son, Dennis. She is survived by her sons, Jeff and Stanley (Kellie); her grandchildren, Brandon, Jill (Don), Kevin, and Kara; and her nine great-grandchildren, Christopher, Koen, Karlee, Aliyah, Ryder, Cameron, Courtney, Lettie, and Remi.
Nina found joy in working with her hands, and pottery was one of her great passions. She especially treasured Christmas, when family gathered together, and those celebrations were among the moments she held most dearly. The warmth and togetherness of those occasions will be remembered by those who shared them with her.
Her life was marked by her deep love for her family and by the simple, meaningful pleasures that brought comfort and connection to those around her. She leaves behind the memory of a woman who valued time together and the traditions that made those times special.
"May the angels lead her into paradise, and may she rest in the peace of Christ". A Viewing will be held on October 16, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary 200 West Beardsley Road. Followed by the funeral and grave services immediately after.
