Nora Jean Ertel

Nora Jean Ertel, 80, of Phoenix passed away on March 4, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife to Jack Ertel for 42 years, who preceded her in death. She was born May 26, 1936, in Butler, Pennsylvania, to the late Harold and Marion Nail.

Nora was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who was truly devoted to her family. Nora married the love of her life, Jack Ertel, in February 1958. They were married 42 years and she traveled the world as an Air Force Wife. She was devoted to raising her four children and went back to school to get her RN license, graduating in 1988. She devoted her career to caring for Oncology patients and her life to serving the Lord.

Nora enjoyed being a grandmother and great-grandmother. She also enjoyed ceramics and won many ribbons for her porcelain dolls.

She is survived by her four children: Karen Sparks (Phil), Brenda Hastings (Steve), Ronald Ertel (Sandy) and Sharon Nelson (Jerry/ Matthew), nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters and many other extended family members and life-long friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Ertel and her parents, Harold and Marion Nail.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 12 - 2 p.m. at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W Beardsley Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027, with services immediately after. Interment to follow at Phoenix Memorial Park.
