Orlinda V. Soto
Orlinda V. Soto, 87, of Glendale, Arizona passed away suddenly on August 25th, 2021. She was born in 1934 in Taos, New Mexico where she lived until she was 14. She then came to Arizona where she resided until her final days. Orlinda loved playing Bingo! Up until the days leading up to her passing, she was playing away. She even won her last game. She would often take a 3 day road trip to Laughlin, Nevada to play Bingo. Orlinda touched so many people’s lives in such a unique way. There wasn’t a day that went by without a card going into the mail for someone’s special occasion. Orlinda was also known for her cooking. She had quite the memory for each person’s special meal and would make their birthday special by making them their favorite food. She could make an amazing pineapple upside down cake. She made every person feel like they were the only one in the world, and they were incredibly special to her, as Orlinda was to every person remembering her. Orlinda was preceded in death by her parents, Eduardo and Bertha Vigil, and her son, Joe Lopez. She was also preceded by her brother, Cruzie and her sister, Mary. Orlinda is survived by her children: daughters; Mary Helen, Sugar and Sonia, and sons; Sisto (Esther) and Eddie (Barb). Little Nana was very fierce when it came to playing bingo. I’ve had the pleasure of playing bingo with her a couple of times. We shared a birthday together and I thought that was awesome. I’m glad she was able to meet her great grandsons. I pretty sure she is in heaven playing all the bingo she wants. Sending love to the whole family.
Love Sean and Manami Beech.
