Paul Roland Peterson, a kind-hearted, faithful, generous, hard-working, and honest man, passed away on June 1, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on December 22, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, Paul was the son of Swedish immigrants, Gustav and Emma Peterson. He spent his childhood on a farm in Grovertown, Indiana.
Paul's career as a journeyman carpenter and general contractor spanned about 50 years of his life. He's remembered by his many business associates for his integrity.
Paul married Anna Mae Winquist in 1950, and they shared a life until her passing in 1985. He married Caryl Starr in 1986, who preceded him in death in 2004. Paul is survived by his children, Paul S. Peterson, Katherine Peterson, Stephen Peterson, and Linnea Smith, and was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Smith. Paul leaves behind a legacy through his 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Paul cherished his stepdaughter Nina McFarlin and stepson Doug Starr and their families.
A devoted member of Bethany Bible Church / Phoenix Bible Church since the early 1960s, Paul was deeply involved in his church community and faith.
Paul will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and work. He will be missed by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 beginning at 2:30 PM at Phoenix Bible Church, 6060 North 7th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85013.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Phoenix Rescue Mission Code Red (Heat Relief) or to Samaritan's Purse Flash Flood Relief.
