Born and raised in Phoenix, Pete faced many health challenges in his later years, including a decades-long battle with diabetes, severe osteoarthritis, and most recently, dementia. Despite the physical pain and memory struggles, he remained a vibrant and loving presence in the lives of those around him.
Pete dedicated his career to Garrett—later acquired by Allied Signal and Honeywell—where he worked diligently until retirement. A proud husband, father, brother, tata, tío, nino, and friend, Pete was deeply cherished in his community.
In his younger days, Pete loved playing baseball. Later, he took up golf, walking, and regular exercise. He found joy in grilling, drinking beer, and listening to rancheras. His menudo, made over mesquite wood during the holidays, was legendary, as was his green Hatch chile salsa and beans.
He had a contagious smile, generous heart, and a unique ability to make others laugh. He never missed an opportunity to offer a cold beer or sneak treats to the dogs. Family and friends spoke of his warmth, kindness, and the way he made everyone feel welcome.
Pete is survived by his children, Peter D. Flores, Angel C. Flores, and April Flores; his sister, Linda Stout; his grandchildren, Justin Flores, Angel Flores, Jasmine Flores, Evan, and Starlight; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe V. Flores and Mary Martinez; his wife, Sally M. Flores; his son, Michael J. Flores; brothers, Joe and Ernesto Flores; and sisters, Jenny Flores, Christina Martinez, Josie Herrera, and Sandra Lopez.
Pete’s kindness and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

“Raise One for Me”
If you smell the grill and the sky is clear,
Just smile and toast me with a cold, good beer.
I’ve had my rounds, I’ve had my say —
Laughed a lot and grilled my way.
No need for tears, no solemn fuss,
Just tell a story, maybe cuss.
Remember this — I’ve lived with style,
So raise one high…and wear a smile.
