Petra J Ruiz

She was born February 16,1953 in Sioux City, Iowa to Joseph Ramirez and Louise Bergenskie. On March 22, 2000, Petra married Ralph Ruiz.

Petra is Survived by her husband, Ralph Ruiz; her children, Chris Rubalcaba, Desi Rubalcaba, and Sonia Cohen; her 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, in addition to multiple bonus family members. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Louise, siblings Joseph, Teddy, Steve, Ray, Josie, Mary, and Amelia, grandson Joshua, and great-grandson Baby D (JR).

Petra lived life to its fullest with simple pleasures, such as spending time with family and friends. Her favorite pastimes were spending time at the casino for Sunday gifts, buying the grandbabies pajamas for every season, making starbucks runs, and always making time for conversations and gatherings around the kitchen table. She was a selfless individual who left a lasting imprint on those who she crossed paths with, sharing wise words of wisdom and encouraging her loved ones to build bonds greater than themselves to last lifetimes. “Time spent with family is time well spent.”

Petra’s funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM April 16, 2025 at the Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 719 N. 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009. Rev. Nick Zamorano will officiate. Flowers, and condolences may be offered at 1107 W. Alta Vista Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85041.
