Phyllis Rae Swanson, 79, of Phoenix, passed away on May 6, 2014, at home, with family by her side. Phyllis was born to Clifford and Verda Fitzsimmons on October 22, 1934, in Greencastle, Indiana. She began her career as a hairdresser, and later became a realtor. Her last job in real estate was as Marketing Director for a local builder. Her faith, family, and home, were her greatest sources of joy. She also enjoyed traveling with family, friends, and her dog, Clifford. She was able to travel to several countries; she visited the Vatican and learned cooking skills in Rarotonga. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Arden Swanson of South Dakota. She is survived by her sons, Mark Feld, of Rimrock and Steve Feld and daughter-in-law Rose, both of Phoenix; sister, Norma Basham, of Goodyear; brother Gary and sister-in-law Dee Fitzsimmons, of Phoenix; and four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many cherished nieces and nephews. A private family memorial service will be held for Phyllis. She will be missed by all. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary.
