Priscilla, known affectionately as “Pat,” was born in 1924 in Sacramento, California. She attended UCLA, where she met her future husband, Henry. They married in 1947, then moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where they raised their family. After assisting her husband at their small grocery store for a time, Pat worked for numerous years at the West Phoenix Justice Court for Maricopa County, attaining the role of chief clerk while also finding time to be a homemaker to her four children.
Active in the First Chinese Baptist Church in Phoenix, Arizona, Pat taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for decades. Both she and Henry also participated in the Gideon Ministries, a Bible organization. In her retirement years, Pat enjoyed traveling with her family throughout Europe and Asia, as well as regular visits to Hawaii. Some of her greatest joys were spent with her grandchildren and, later, with her great-grandchildren. Pat was an avid Mahjong player, and was known for cooking delicious meals that were widely appreciated by her friends and family. Her fried chicken and chocolate chip cookies were outstanding and always in great demand.
Pat is survived by her husband, Henry Ong, Jr., her children Pamela Wong (Truman), Michael Ong (Darlene), Curtis Ong, Kevin Ong (Priscilla), and grandchildren Natalie Wales, Jonathan Wong, Crystal Ferguson (Joshua), and Sarah Lai (Alvin), and three great-grandchildren: Hannah Ferguson, James Ferguson, and Rose Lai.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to First Chinese Baptist Church (4910 E. Earl Drive, Phoenix, Arizona, 85018). Visitation and services will be at the First Chinese Baptist Church on Saturday, November 3, 2018. Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. with services to follow at 2:00 p.m.
