

Ralph Richard Burton, 86, of Glendale, Arizona passed away October 19, 2012. He was born in Pittsburg, PA, the son of James C. and Helen Burton, and brother, James H. Burton who all preceded him in death. Ralph is survived by his loving family; wife, Johanna Elizabeth Burton, Nephews; James, Joseph and Jeffery Burton.
Ralph started his military career in WW II with the Merchant Marines. After the Merchant Marines, he transferred to the U.S. Army. While stationed in Germany, Ralph met his wife Johanna of 58 years. Ralph also served in Korea and Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He retired from the service with the rank of 1st Sergeant (E-8).
After retiring from the U.S. Army Ralph went into business with his brother and uncle. They ran the business, West Hatcher Auto Salvage, for more than 10 years, before selling it and returning ton easy life style of retirement.
In his later years, Ralph enjoyed bowling, working on small projects, and watching baseball and football with Johanna.
Ralph will be missed by all of his loving family and many friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, 5:00-7:00 P.M.. at Phoenix Memorial Mortuary Chapel, 200 W. Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027. Funeral Services will be Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, 10:00 A.M., also at Phoenix Memorial Mortuary. Burial will be in Phoenix Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.
