Ramona (Martinez) Barreto, 90 passed away on March 5, 2020, and Luis Barreto, 85 passed away on March 11, 2020 - they went on to be with their Lord and Savior. Ramona and Luis were inseparable and happily married 52 years. Today, on March 22, 2020, they’ll be laid to rest together after having passed away peacefully six days apart.
Ramona was a master at crocheting, having learned the fine skills from her aunts. She always had fresh, warm tortillas ready at a moments notice and wanted to serve them to anyone who visited. Her tamales and pastillas were the talk of the family, and no one could match her skills in making them by hand.
Luis was a man of great faith.
He loved to tend to as much gardening as the Arizona desert would allow him, and he was a regular supporter of a flock of birds that came to visit him in their back yard on a daily basis.
They’ll be joining their parents, her brothers Gregorio Martinez, Trinidad “Trini” Martinez, Jimmy Martinez, her son Dennis Fermaint, her daughter Diana Fermaint, and granddaughter Valerie Fermaint.
They have left behind her brother Anselmo Martinez, her sons Domingo Fermaint, David Fermaint, Derwin Fermaint, Damon Fermaint, Daniel Fermaint; his sons Miquel Barreto, Luis Barreto, Jr., and their son Marcos Barreto; along with seventeen grandchildren, and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
There will never be a day, when we won’t think of you.
