Rex B. Cottington
October 29, 1924 – March 9, 2019
Rex B. Cottington, 94, passed away on March 9th, 2019 in the comfort of his home. He was the widower of Beverly (Logue) Cottington, together they shared 70 years of marriage. Born in Bode, Iowa, he was the son of Levi and Gertrude (Gienap) Cottington. Rex joined the Army Air Force in 1944 and ended his military career as a First Lieutenant pilot flying a B-24 in World War II. Rex was a member of Fountain of Life Lutheran Church. He enjoyed reading books, going for daily walks, and playing card games. He was a proud and good man that was also a strong patriarch to his family. Rex is loved and will be missed by many! He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly and youngest son Bradley Cottington. He is survived by his son Jeffrey Cottington, a proud grandfather to Juli, Christopher (Brandi), Suzanne (Paul), Jaclyn (Amy), and Melanie (Christopher). Rex cherished his role as a great-grandfather to Amanda, Kayla, Joshua, Connor, Colin, Wyatt, and Audrey.
