Rhonda Lynn Griffin

March 4, 1955October 3, 2019

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife and mother, Rhonda Lynn Griffin on October 3, 2019. Her selfless heart that beat the rhythm of her children’s souls, decided to solely share that rhythm with the angels above.

She was born on March 4, 1955 to the late Herman and Sibyl Smith of Phoenix, Arizona. Rhonda married the man of her dreams on June 21, 1986, Don F. Griffin in Munds Park, Arizona. She excelled as an Engineering Hardware Manager for Honeywell Aerospace, where she was loved and admired for over twenty-five years.

Her gift for creating the perfect ambience with a combination of “one of a kind” décor, music, food, and sense of humor magnificently brought together her family and friends to create lifelong, cherished memories. She never stopped sharing her love for music and dancing, even in the kitchen.

Rhonda is survived by her loving husband of thirty-three years, Don F. Griffin; her four children, Andraya L. Telesco, Randee P. Marafioti, Dawnee N. Hunt, and Kolton J. Griffin; eight grandchildren, Kyle, Griffin, Gage, Carter, Chloe, Wyatt, Emma, Beau and many other loving family and friends. Join us on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10:00 am to celebrate Rhonda’s life at the Covenant of Grace Christian Fellowship Church at 906 W. Peoria Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85029. Family and friends are also welcome to join Rhonda’s family back at the Griffin home at 1:00pm for food and refreshments. Online condolences can be shared at www.shadowmountainmortuary.com or on the Rhonda Griffin Memorial Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/DonGriffinswife/.

So enjoyed working with Rhonda at Honeywell as she was always the most friendly person and very helpful with anything needed and always had a smile on her face! Broke my heart to hear she left us far too soon!

To Rhonda, who was beautiful on the inside and the outside,

You were the most dynamic and energetic woman I have ever met. I often wondered when you slept because you were always on fire and seemed to have boundless energy. That energy was spent on others…you took care of people, making them feel special.

Cubes became an explosion of color-coordinated décor for each birthday person. Balloons would line the aisles for Valentine’s Day, reminding us that Rhonda cared for everyone, no exclusions. There were donuts every pay period, rain or shine and everyone was welcome. The homemade banana cake could soften the heart and palette of the most callous banana hater.

Were the world full of more people like you, it would be a magical place. Sleep well, my friend.

I've known Rhonda for over 25 years from working with her at Honeywell but it was the last 7 years we really got close and I got to see what a special person she really was. I couldn't have asked for a sweeter friend. Rhonda was always going out of her way to make others feel special and had the kindest heart. She always had the most creative ideas and would decorate our offices on our birthdays. She also brought in dozens of donuts every payday to share with everyone. She was my breakfast buddy and we loved to talk about everything from our families to politics. Rhonda you will be missed more than you could ever imagine. Your passing will leave a void in many lives. Rest in peace. Love you my Sista ♥

My dear Rhonda,

Thank you for being such a beautiful impact on my life. You took care of my mom and always made her feel so special, she couldn’t have asked for a better friend. My mom would call me about the funniest Rhonda stories after work and I’d always talk about how much I love you and how much I missed you. You truly are apart of our family. You are such a unique gem and you will always hold a very special place in my heart. I am going to miss talking to you on the phone here and there and listening to your voice. But I know you will always be with us in spirit.

To the woman who truly moved mountains for those she cared about, I love you so very much and I pray you rest in peace. I love you bestie Rhonda.

Rhonda was always there for me. We kept each other going through some pretty tough times at work. When I first met Rhonda I found out she could be pretty silly too. One day she walked in my cube and tossed her bracelet in front of me. She laughed and said I had to take the bracelet from her because she’d already had it caught in her sweater and her hair. She was a very goofy, silly, fun friend. She was loyal and loving. Rhonda was more generous than any friend I’d ever had.
Rhonda also loved her family fiercely. She was always showing pictures of them and telling me stories.
She told me that Christ is her Savior so I know I will be with her again some day. John 3:16
Know I love you Rhonda, dear friend. -Pam Harris
