Richard Wesley Brown of Phoenix, AZ passed away on September 24, 2016. He was born in Herrin, Illinois on October 17, 1938. Richard served others all his life. He served his country as a Corporal in the US Marine Corp. Later Richard became a Geography and History teacher and taught in the Phoenix Union High School District at South Mountain High School for 33 years. Richard believed in the potential of all students and that all students deserved a chance to meet that potential. He is survived by his wife Wilda; daughter and son-in-law Diane Brown – Tapia and Enrique Tapia; two grandsons Wesley and Ezra; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Frances Norman and Calvin Norman. There are no services pending at this time but the family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
