

Richard Dale Cookaka....Grandpa Cook, Rick, Rickie, Rickie Bobby, etc...He was born in Osmond, Nebraska and grew up in Wausa, Nebraska.He was a popular boy in school. He was a football player and dated the head cheerleader. His high school year books were signed by so many students. He was in many photos. Guessing he had always been a good "bull shitter" as he would call it. He worked for ADOT for over 27 years as a Database Administrator. He used to tell folks that they did not pay him for what he did, but for what he knew. So proud he was of this grandsons - Trevor and Eli. He came to visit them both when they were just weeks old in CA and at least once a year there after and many times twice a year. Trevor and Grandpa talked about how to fix things and watched Jeopardy together. Eli and Grandpa talked and watched Football together. He had lots of amazing wonderful friends and neighbors over the years. Springer "Dumbass" as Rick called him was his partner in crime for most everything. The other Cooks gave him lots of parental advice. Kenny and the Wamberg's were frequent visits when he came to the mid-west. He enjoyed taking cruises to various tropical places and trips to Mexico. He loved good food, but if he could make it better why go out to eat. Fajitas, Carlos O'Brien's and Pappadeaux to name a few of his favorites which lived up to his expectations. His brother Randy kept him in check and taught him a few life lessons as well. They were enjoyed one another's company and each always had a good story to tell. He loved golf, nascar, the cardinals and the cornhuskers. He could fix anything and complete any crossword puzzle. He married Carla at 04:05.06pm on 07/08/09 by Elvis in Vegas! They loved watching nascar, football and mythbusters together. He enjoyed taking care of and doing things for his "baby doll" Carla. He was so proud of their wedding plans and everything he had planned on their "honeymoon." He died from a massive heart attack on December 13, 2009 in his home in Phoenix, AZ. Services held on Saturday, December 19 at the Shadow Mountain Mortuary, Phoenix, AZ and Monday, December 21 at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Genoa, NE.
