Richard A Waraksa

Richard Waraksa (87) of Phoenix, AZ passed away at his home May 14, 2012. He was born in Hamtramck, MI and lived most of his life in the Detroit area. Dick was proud to serve in the US Army during World War II. He worked for the City of Detroit Water Department for 30 years and retired as a supervisor in 1987. Dick was also a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In retirement, he enjoyed spending winters at his Florida home until moving to Phoenix. Beloved husband of Audrey for 25 cherished years; loving step-father of Dan (Laura) Laciak; Donna Laciak; father-in-law of Nancy Waraksa; proud grandfather of Emily, Neil, Matthew and Andrew. He was preceded in death by sons David and Jerry. Visitation will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, May 19, 2012 followed by Military Honors and Funeral Service beginning at 4;00pm in the Chapel at Carr-Tenney Mortuary, 2621 S. Rural Road, Tempe, AZ 85282 (On the corner of Alameda and Rural between Broadway and Southern).
