Robert Alfred Hafemeyer, resident of Phoenix, died May 18, 2015. Bob was born in Hartford, Connecticut on October 5, 1930 to Margaret and Alfred Hafemeyer. He served in the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant at Ft. Bliss in El Paso, Texas where he was an instructor on the 90mm anti-aircraft gun. Following his military service, he moved to Phoenix where he worked for Reynolds Metals Company for twenty-five years in die design and eventually Product Manager. He was a member of Bethany Bible Church in Phoenix. After retirement, he was active in volunteering for The Gideons International. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Virginia; son Mark of Phoenix; daughter Vicki and son-in-law, Larry McCoy of Richardson, Texas; five grandchildren, Rebecca Hafemeyer, Robert Hafemeyer, Joshua McCoy, Caroline McCoy, and Spencer McCoy. Services will be held on Friday, May 29th at 11AM at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd., Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Gideons International at www.gideons.org.
