Robert E. Knapp

Knapp, Robert (Bob) E. 84, of Tempe AZ, passed away on February 1, 2012. Bob was born on July 26, 1927 in Portland, OR to the late Carl and Mary Knapp. He married his sweetheart, Patricia S. Shea in 1950 and together they had nine children. Bob graduated from the University of Portland and attended Northwestern School of Law and became a member of the Oregon State Bar in 1956. Bob worked for State Farm Insurance for 38 years. In 1971, Bob and Pat moved from Salem, OR to Tempe, AZ to open the State Farm Regional Office as the Divisional Fire Manager. Bob enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii and after retiring in 1991, he enjoyed playing golf with his many friends. He was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Terzenbach in 1991. He is survived by his wife, daughters Kathy, Anne Marie Gammon, sons Marc of MI, Bob (Jackie) of WA, Jim, John (Jeannie), Tom (Rose) and Michael, 15 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Bob was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was a loving and caring man and we will love and miss him forever. A Visitation will be held at Carr-Tenney Mortuary on Monday, February 6, 2012 from 6-8 pm, Rosary will be said at 7 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 10:00 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church in Tempe. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be sent to Alzheimer’s Research or the Hospice of the Valley.
