Lynx was a long time resident of Phoenix, moving here as a teenager. He joined the US Marines the year he turned 18. And proudly served in the Korean War and achieved the rank of Corporal before the war was over.
Lynx was a 35 year employee of the Arizona Republic News Paper. He loved his work, but he also loved his hobbies. He was an original member of the Arizona Gunslingers club. He loved the old west and all of the things that went with it. He was an avid old western fan and especially loved John Wayne. He collected memorabilia from the old west era and had several John Wayne collectibles. Being quite talented at wood crafting, leather work and carpentry were just a few of his many talents. He and his wife Bobbi also had a ceramics shop and clothing painting line they ran with great pride and joy. Having participated in contests and won many blue ribbons along the way. He was a man of many talents, having also learned to fly small aircraft, they took several trips with him piloting the way.
Lynx met Bobbi on a blind date, and eloped in February of 1959, only 6 weeks after meeting, they were married for 54 years. They were members of the Arizona Yacht Club and the Phoenix F.O.P.A Lodge 2. Being very community minded they volunteered at the weekly F.O.P.A Fish Fry fundraiser, and were members of the F.O.P.A Annual Fundraiser Organizing Committee for several years as well as participating in many other community activities.
Lynx is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth "Bobbi" Linxwiler and is survived by two sisters, Melody Winn of Fremont, CA and Claudia King of Prescott, AZ, one son and daughter-in-law Rob & Vivian Linxwiler of Maricopa, AZ. And one adopted foster son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Jeannette Gibson of Las Vegas, NV, and eight grandchildren, and ten great- grandchildren.
As per Lynx's wishes arrangements for a private Celebration of Life Wake and separate ashes scattering ceremony are pending.
