Robert Niles was born in New Castle, Indiana on September 4, 1929, son of Juanita and Loring Niles. He married Barbara Shonk in 1953 in New Castle, Indiana. Bob received his degree from Ball State Teachers College, participated in the ROTC program and began a 20-year Air Force career as a pilot retiring in 1972.
He is survived by daughters Victoria Niles from Orlando, Florida, Glenda (John) Guess from Mesa, Arizona, Annette (Dave) Sanderman from Sun City, Arizona and Wanda (John) Frazier from Tualatin, Oregon, grandchildren Whitney (Steven) Freygang from Bellevue, Washington, Robert Given from Orlando, Florida, Devon Frazier from Beaverton, Oregon, Madison Frazier from Tualatin, Oregon, and great-grandson Mark Asher Given from Orlando, Florida.
He is predeceased by his wife, Barbara Niles on November 4, 1995, brothers William Niles, Norman Niles and sister Myra Helms.
Memorial services will be held Friday, August 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027. Robert will be laid to rest following the memorial service.
