Robert John Stephenson

Robert John Stephenson, 60, passed away on July 26, 2026. He was born on December 10, 1965, to Jack and Rosemary (Hellow) Stephenson in Lakewood, California, and was a resident of Black Canyon City, Arizona.

Rob attended Cholla High School in Tucson, Arizona, where he played football. During those years, he met the love of his life, Tammy, and they were later married—beginning a devotion that remained central to his story.

A hard-working man of steady purpose and honest character, Rob built a life defined by perseverance, capability, and care for others. He worked for United Airlines for 20 years and ended his career at Old Dominion Freight Lines. Known as a true “jack of all trades,” he carried both skill and wisdom in equal measure—able to fix, build, and create with the kind of practical ingenuity that made life better for the people around him. As the saying goes: “A jack of all trades is a master of none, often times better than a master of one.”

Rob’s adventurous spirit showed in the way he embraced life—boating, traveling to new places, and spending quality time with family and friends. He enjoyed discovering new restaurants and tasting good food, and he was known to over order, LOL. He also loved 4 wheeling in the side by side with his friends. Through it all ran a generous, compassionate heart: his motivation in life was helping people, and his family.

Rob was preceded in death by his wife Tammy; his daughter Katrina; his son Ryan (Tabetha); his grandchildren Ezekiel, Xendan, River, Lily, Vicky, and Eleanor; his great granddaughter Evelynn; his mother Rosemary; Aunt CY; sister Karen; and many cousins.

Rob was, to those who knew him, a beloved and cherished presence—faithful, loyal, and selfless, with a humor that could lift a moment and a resilience that carried others through difficult times. He is described by those who knew him as “the greatest man I ever knew.” He meant so much to so many. He was a true friend, and he will be deeply missed.
