LTC Robert Miles Wagner, Sr, Ret, 94, passed away October 12, 2012. Born at Bradford, PA November 18, 1917. Joining the Army Air Corp brought him to Arizona in 1941. He joined the USAF after WWII and retired in 1965. A degree from ASU enabled him to teach high school for the next 14 years.
He has been active in his church, The Gideons Int’l, Daedalians T’bird Flight, AAHS-Phx Wing, AZ for Nat’l Security, Joe Foss Institute, WWII Veterans Group, and Amer. Leg. Post #1. Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Alyne Ray Wagner, brother-in-law Barron Ray and wife Ann, sister-in-law Mrs. Julian (Martha) Ray; children Bob Wagner, Jr. (Cheri), Capt Dick Wagner, Ret (Patty), Jim Wagner (Cathy), Mary Jane Boos (Robert), and Liz Burke (Brian); 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tues, October 23, 2012, at North Phoenix Baptist Church Chapel, 5757 N. Central. Viewing 10 AM, Funeral 11 AM, Military Honor Guard Ceremony 12 PM and Reception 12:30 PM. Private burial will be Wed. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Gideons Int’l, PO Box 55214, Phx. AZ 85078.
