Rod had an undying love of family and willingly sacrificed to provide for their needs. His family was abundantly blessed with his love, faith, and knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
He had varied interests including wrestling, track, and theater in high school. He also enjoyed the outdoors including camping, hunting, and fishing. He enlisted with the Marines during the Vietnam War and served as a prison guard at Camp Pendleton, CA. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 40+ years before retiring in 2019.
Rod was preceded in death by his spouse of 50 years, Linda Gale Jarvis, his son David Anthony Jarvis, his parents Mary Alice Rothlisberger and Anthony Ivins Jarvis, and his brother Ivins Burk Jarvis. He is survived by his children Rhonda Lynn Stuart (Mike), Rex Nolan Jarvis (Johanna), Tammy Michelle Guadalupe (Miguel), 24 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind siblings Fatha Lineweaver, Mike Jarvis, and Tonya Jarvis.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3802 N. 59th Avenue, Phoenix AZ 85033. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and the funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at the Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale with a graveside service beginning at 1:00 PM.
