Ron graduated from Newton High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from the University of California. He proudly served his country as a Captain in the United States Army, a chapter of his life that reflected his dedication, sense of duty, and service to others.
Ron shared his life with his beloved wife, Jean. Together, they built a family and a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Jean was an important and cherished part of Ron’s life, and their years together were a treasured part of the story he leaves behind.
Ron spent much of his professional life in the labor relations field with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS), where he dedicated his career to helping others find common ground. He was also a proud member of the Elks.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ron will be remembered most for the joy he found in life and in the people and animals he loved. He had a passion for fishing, enjoyed a good card game, and held a special place in his heart for animals. He cherished his family and the many memories they created together.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Jean; his family, Dean (Ronda), Denise, Derek, Christine (Chris), Nicholas (Sarah), and Elinor; his grandchildren, Alex, Lucas, Toby, and Dominick; and his sister, Donna (George).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Hazel Collotta; his brother, Gary; and his grandson, Matthew.
Ron leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Jean, his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, humor, love of life, devotion to his family, and compassion for animals will remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ron’s memory to R/D Hospice or the Arizona Humane Society, two organizations that reflect his compassion and love for others and for animals.
May he rest peacefully, and may his memory continue to bring comfort and warmth to all who loved him.
