Rose Mary Buttrum

Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and raised in nearby Lenox, Rose Mary was brought up in the Catholic faith, which remained an important part of her life. In 1968, she made Arizona her home, where she built a life centered on family, faith, and the simple joys of being surrounded by those she loved.

Rose Mary was truly one of a kind. She was spirited, outgoing, colorful, and never afraid to speak her mind. Her vibrant personality could light up a room, and her sense of humor, strength, and determination made her unforgettable to everyone who knew her. She lived life with passion and authenticity, embracing every moment with energy and heart. One of her favorite sayings was, "Live every day like it's your last," and she truly lived by those words, making the most of every moment and encouraging those around her to do the same.

Above all else, Rose Mary's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved significant other, Santos Ortega, whose love and companionship brought her great happiness. She was the proud and devoted mother of five children and four stepchildren, a loving grandmother to sixteen grandchildren, and a cherished great-grandmother. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family, celebrating holidays, sharing stories, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

Her love was unconditional, her door was always open, and her family always knew they had someone they could count on. The values she instilled—love, resilience, generosity, faith, and the importance of family—will continue to live on through each of them.

Rose Mary will be remembered for her larger-than-life personality, her caring heart, her deep devotion to her family, and the countless lives she enriched with her love, laughter, and unwavering spirit.

She also leaves behind her beloved children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love will remain with us always. Her spirit will live on in every family gathering, every shared laugh, every story told in her honor, and in the reminder to "Live every day like it's your last."

A Funeral Service will take place at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027, US, on July 30, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.

A Committal Service will follow at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027, US, on July 30, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
