Roselyn Charlotte (Haunss) Buchanan

Roseyln Charlotte Haunss Buchanan (Rose) passed away peacefully on March 2, 2023 with Irish music and family surrounding her at the age of 95 years where she had recently been taken to Hospice of the Valley, Glendale, as a result of a recent fall.

Rose was born April 11, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana, daughter of Fred & Anna Haunss; oldest sister to Carolyn (Curran) and Suzanne (Jordan) (both previously deceased).

Roselyn was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School and St. Agnes Academy High School.

Roselyn married Jack C Buchanan (deceased) on June 14, 1947, and together they celebrated 65 years of marriage raising six children: Mary Buchanan (Greg) Kallemeyn; John Michael Buchanan; James Frederick Buchanan; Stephen Glenn Buchanan (Janice); Kevin Patrick Buchanan (LeAnn); and Timothy Joseph Buchanan. The Buchanan family moved to West Covina, California in 1960 where they continued life’s journey through many wonderful years. Another move took them to Phoenix, Arizona, for Jack’s career in 1971.

Roselyn began a new career in real estate with Century 21 Bill Bliss Agency in 1974 where she enjoyed a new challenge, reaching the Million Dollar Club and Gold Jacket status; managing the Agency for a time before retiring and then taking on a new path with Pastoral Care at St. Paul’s Catholic Church for many years.

She was most often seen volunteering in many capacities at St. Paul’s and embraced everyone she met with love and affection. She held a great trust in the Lord and cherished her Catholic faith.

Roselyn is survived by her six children; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews; and friends from many walks of life. Her love of the Lord, Luck of the Irish, always ready for a party, and embracing her family were always the most important things to her. She lived life to the fullest, her way, and is now dancing in the heavens with so many loved ones who have passed before.

Services will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church on March 15, 2023 at 9:30 (Visitation & Rosary) followed by a Funeral Mass concelebrated by Father Dinda (Bruno) Cuario (pastor); Father Charles Kieffer (Vicar) and Father Steven Barber (Jesuit @ Brophy Prep) at 10:30. Reception immediately following the services in O’Carroll Hall at St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

Interment at 2:00 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona with Jack, her husband. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, Glendale, Arizona.

A rosary / visitation for Roselyn will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at St Paul's Roman Catholic Church, 330 W Coral Cables Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85023. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 330 W Coral Cables Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85023. A committal service will occur Wednesday, March 15, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
