Rosemary was many things: a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a friend and a colleague. Her adventurous spirit and warmth drew people to her easily and she made everyone feel welcome, loved, and heard.
Rosie (as many call her), spent most of the first half of her life in Wisconsin. She graduated from Mesmer High School in Milwaukee and attended Marquette University. However, after moving to Arizona in 1975, she felt she had arrived at her true home and never wanted to leave. Together, she and her first love and husband, James, raised six children and fostered many more.
Rosemary began working as a travel agent in the late 1960's and continued that work up until her passing. She ran her own agency for 25 years, served as president of the Arizona Chapter of the American Society of Travel Agents, and was on the national board of ASTA for four years. Rosemary was the first woman president of Arizona Skal - an international association of all segments of the travel industry. Traveling the world, she visited most countries and every continent but Antarctica. She loved spending time as a Red Hat Club member, water aerobics attendee, Maggie’s Place volunteer, and sitting at the kitchen table playing Rummikub with friends and family. Rosemary was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and was frequently found at local sports bars cheering them on. Las Vegas was a favorite trip and nothing could excite her more than winning at the craps table. She brought joy to so many and was very active in her community, serving as the glue keeping people connected.
Rosemary is survived by her children Patrick and his wife Dana; Michael and his wife Linda, Peter and his wife Jill; her daughter-in-law Mary, wife of David; her grandchildren Rachel, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Zachary and Grant; and her beloved dog Harley.
Greeting Rosemary in heaven are her husband Jim; children Mary, David and Paul; and dear friend Jo Burt.
Her funeral Mass will take place at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 32648 N Cave Creek Rd, Cave Creek, at 10 AM on April 20th.
The family asks all to write a story or memory of Rosemary instead of sympathy cards so they can compile these and make them into a book. For donations in her honor please go to https://www.maggiesplace.org/
