

Ruby was born Sept. 21, 1936 and passed away on July 26, 2011, after a 5 ½ month illness. She was born and died in Phoenix, AZ and was a very proud Mexican-American. Loving mother, sister, sister-in-law, "Nana", great-grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt, first, second & third cousin and good friend to many. Preceded in death by her mother, Violet, father, Porfirio, 4 sisters, 7 brothers, 2 aunts, 1 uncle. Ruby left behind brothers, Ralph & Louie, sister, Virgie, brother-in-law, John, sisters-in-law, Tencha, Rita, Sharon, & Dolores, daughter, Violet, sons, Joe & Tony, daughters-in-law, Susie, Melody, grandchildren, Alvino, Christine, Evie, Phillip, Deon, Vincent, Sylvia, Christina, Theresa, Celisa, Carmelita, Renee, Amber & Christopher, great-grandchildren, Teresa, Alyssa, Andy Jr., & Leonardo, niece, Gloria M., the Trejo & Brady cousins, first, second & third, approximately 100 nieces, nephews, grand & great-grand nieces & nephews, family friend Chente, and many friends, to carry on her spirit and memories. Ruby did not finish high school but earned her G.E.D. at the age of 55. In life she had many employers but lastly she worked at Motorola as a furnace operator. She belonged to the American Legion, Post 41, as a member of the women's drill team, in the 1970's. In her youth, she learned to dance on stage at Grant park. She enjoyed reading, all kinds of music and playing the guitar and singing. She was known and admired for her resilience, determination and unwillingness to surrender to life's constant battles. Ruby loved her family and her family loved her, her great humor and her generous spirit. She will be dearly missed. Vistation will be held at A. L. Moore-Grimshaw, 710 W.
