Ruby was a wonderful God-send, whom we grew closer and closer to as the years went on. She was a great teacher of God's Word, a true friend, and an encouraging mentor. I'm cherishing all the lessons, laughs, walks and talks, workouts, meals, writings, phone calls, etc. we've shared together. We feel blessed to have known Ruby and the example she set before us. Ruby Jewel you are a truly a GEM. Thank you for all that you did for me as a young mother. You came to my house and helped me clean. You taught classes that kept me strong as a young Christian mom and wife.  You taught classes in your home that made my marriage stronger. You helped me write a child book. You have made a positive impression on so many lives. AMAZING talent and Christian sister. It is my pleasure to celebrate your life and contributions. Thank you for all that you have did to encourage me as a young woman, wife and mother. When I get to heaven I can't wait to get a BIG hug and hear that laugh again.

Percy, what a beautiful "Legacy of Love" your beloved wife has left for her family and for those of us who were so fortunate to call her Friend.  Ruby loved her family dearly and each one of you held a very special place in her heart, especially those precious grandchildren! I miss my Ruby so much already and I truly feel God placed her here on earth for all of us to enjoy and to learn what His unconditional love was all about.  She showed His love continously in so many ways and to so many people.  I was so blessed to have known her and I will forever be so grateful to God, you and your sweet family for sharing Ruby (my sister by heart) with us through these years.  Love you all and will be keeping you in prayer.

Ruby will forever be fixed in my mind as the consummate example of loving kindness. A rare and precious jewel whose touch will linger long in the lives of all she encountered. I will miss her sweet smile and the joy she brought into my life.

If the apostle Paul was  born a woman,  her name would've been Ruby Howard.  I stopped counting the number of times Ruby opened her mouth and the words of Paul came out, " . . . . in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.  For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.  But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell.  for I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.  Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you. . . . . " Philippians 1:20-24  "For I am already being pour out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.  I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing" 2 Timothy 4:6-8   Ruby allowed herself to "be transformed by the renewing of" her mind, that she may "prove what is that good and acceptable will of God." Romans 12:2      What an "ambassador" for Christ, who spoke "boldly, as" she "ought to speak."  Ephesians 6:20

Ruby had the Spirit of the Lord in her every word.  She was a special lady who meant so much to everyone who knew her.  She made you feel like you were her best friend.  Our God threw away her mold, after she was made.  There are no other person in the world like Ruby.  I asked her to sing a solo at my Mother's memorial service in the Tempe Church of Christ, March 2000.  She sang 'Going Home' and it was beautiful.   Our prayers are with Percy and all the family. I remember the first time I met the Howard Family (in Tucson, AZ).  The family sat behind us during worship service.  The song selection was announced - and Ruby let-her-voice-out!  Magnificent!!!   I remember telling my family, "I want that woman to sing at my wedding (when I get engaged and decide to marry)."  Our families became very good friends (and I eventually learned Ruby's name).  I held-on to that deep-rooted desire over the following years - and YES, Ruby blessed my wedding with her voice!   She blessed our marriage with her insight, wisdom, and tireless mission/dedication  to share her knowledge of God and His Word.

Ruby and I spent hours talking over the years.  More accurately, I spent hours listening to Ruby over the years.  :)   She lived she know the LORD more intimately and to share what she learned with others.  One of the greatest lessons Ruby taught me, was to ask, "Why NOT me?".  The epiphany I experienced has changed my life forever!

Anyone whoever crossed paths with miss Ruby will have some kind of memory. She always had a kind word,or  a warm smile and sparkle in her eyes. If you did not know her, you just knew you met a special lady.If you did know her, than you were blessed to call her friend for life,because she collected many!! Not many leave a mark on everyone's heart , but Ruby was one of those who did!

Percy and Family you and this world has lost a beautiful woman  who was God's measurement  of a Christian lady. I will always cherish the

To Mr. Howard and family..............Mrs. Howard is truly going to be missed by everyone she touched.  Her ever smiling face.........kind and thoughful Christian heart.....modesty and grace.  We've been neighbors for over 15 years, and we could not have chosen better neighbors than Mr. and Mrs. Howard......(not even family).  We consider the Howards our family.  We will always have fond memories of Mrs. Howard.  From taking our sons on play dates with Bryce when they were all..........little, giving us a refrigerator magnet she made with the boys' photo with a verse and sharing a special poem that she had penned.  Please take comfort in God and all of your memories of Mrs. Howard.  She will be missed.........

It is your smile that I shall carry in my heart, along with the words and wisdom you shared with us all, always giving God the credit for your words and life. Percy will be in our hearts too, as the loving, dedicated husband/friend you adored.  Your family has so much love to keep in their hearts too.

Dear Percy and family,
Angela and I want to express to you all how sorry we are for your loss in Ruby's passing. We know how much she is loved and how much all her family will miss her. We love her too and will miss her terribly.

While she will continue to be known for being so prolific in teaching truth the thing we will hold dear is how she practiced grace. She was the most grace-filled person we have known. She loved God and she loved people. She was in fact unique and will beyond doubt be missed.

Percy and all the family. We are all with you asking for comfort and strength. Ruby sang "I know that my redeemer lives" in "The Messiah" many times. That song and many others she did sent chills through my body. She loved the Lord and lived that song as I'm sure we will all agree. Ruby always had a smile on her face, and concern for everyone else.  While fighting her battle she always asked me when she came to the office, or called ,How is your sister? (who Is also battling cancer as well). She never complained, or was cross, even when you knew she didn't feel well.
Heaven is very lucky to have a beautiful new angel !
