With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sanah D. Miller on May 28th from congestive heart failure. She was 82, having been born on June 14, 1941 in Kearney, Nebraska. She leaves behind a loving and accomplished family of husband, Stephen R Miller(Lt. Col. USAF Ret.)who she was happily married to for 63 years, and 2 daughters, Nickalina M. Miller and Denise D. Bullock. Other surviving relatives are granddaughters Victoria Weeks, Veronica Gant, Valerie Brookman and great granddaughter Olivia Gant. Sanah was also survived by her sisters, LeeEtta Pester of Beatrice, Nebraska, Connie Gaukel of Wyoming and 3 brothers, Charles Miller of Iowa, Dewayne Slaughter of Iowa and Harvey Nelson of Virginia.
Sanah grew up in Kearney, Nebraska and in her teens went into state care(a foster home),ending up in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was in Lincoln, while attending Business College, that she met Stephen. After marriage Stephen joined the Air Force and away they went. Their travels thru the Air Force included Texas, California, Ohio, Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida, Arizona and also to Canada, Germany and Egypt( a couple of times.) With all these moves, she often was in charge of getting the household moved and into storage, not much fun with 2 young kids. Sanah enjoyed the moves and new challenges, especially the moves to Egypt. While in Egypt, she worked in the American Embassy and in Florida, she sold real estate. She also earned a degree in Finance. Sahan was an avid quilter, she made quilts for all family members. She loved to sing and with each family birthday celebration, enjoyed making party favors for everyone.
Sahan's passing happened at home and occurred quickly. She loved life to the fullest and really enjoyed her relatives and friends to the fullest.
A visitation for Sanah will be held Friday, June 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM and catered reception after graveside at Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary at 200 W Beardsley Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027.
