60 of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on August 15, 2018. He was born on September 4, 1957 in Kalamazoo, MI at Bronson Hospital. The son of Jack (deceased) and Darlene Adams. He attended Paradise Valley High School in Phoenix but because of the family relocating, he graduated from Taft High School in Woodland Hills, CA. From the time Scott was a young boy, he dreamed of being a radio disc jockey. He listened tirelessly to his radio idols, in attempts of perfecting his craft. After high school, he enrolled at ASU to obtain his communications degree. Eventually, he transferred to a broadcasting school to obtain that degree. He was known on the air as Scott McCarthy working at several stations in Oklahoma and Texas before settling back in Phoenix working at FM stations KLOS and KOOL, just to name a few. His talents then took him back to Texas where he finished his career. Scott also had an amazing talent for drawing, specifically comics. Even to be as bold as to submit his “comic strip” to the one and only Charles M. Schulz in hopes of the opportunity to work with him. Mr. Schulz replied, acknowledging his talent and offered words of encouragement not knowing it was to a nine year old boy. Scott is survived by his mother Darlene, brother Todd (Cindy), nieces Mandy and Jenny, and many cousins in Michigan. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, September 1, 2018 at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2530 E. Greenway Rd Phoenix, AZ 85022.
