Shannon Marie Woods, 47, went home to be with the Lord on October 21, 2021 after battling Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). Shannon was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Paradise Valley High School in 1992 and attended Eastern College in Safford, AZ.
Shannon adored children, she was a nanny for many years to a wonderful local family and spent time babysitting for several other lovely families. Shannon was fond of dogs and enjoyed housesitting and caring for pets. She also worked with a great group of people at SRP, Dexcom, and Nextiva in various customer service roles.
Shannon especially loved family gatherings around the holidays and birthdays, going on countless road trips with friends and travelling to Rocky Point, Mexico as well as many other adventures. She also loved playing cards, going for a swim and playing in the pool, fireside evenings singing and making s'mores with an amazing group of special friends. She had a natural knack for voice impersonations, spontaneous singing, and joyous humor.
Shannon had a love for music. She enjoyed live music, together with friends she saw the Beatles LOVE in Las Vegas as well as Chicago. She also enjoyed singing karaoke. Some of her favorites include Wonderwall by Oasis, Waterloo by Abba, All You Need is Love by the Beatles, and Let Your Love Flow by the Bellamy Brothers.
Borrowed Angel by Kristen Chenoweth was a song in remembrance of Shannon by a close friend.
Other songs of remembrance shared for Shannon include Time to go Home by Gwen Sebastian, and she will be fondly remembered as being smart and funny. She loved to make people laugh! She was always up for an adventure with that wonderful smile. We won't ever forget her famous Shepherd’s Pie!
“There are those who hear the music… and there are those of us who feel it”
