

Sharon Adele Ruhl DesRosiers, age 75, passed away on September 26, 2016 in Scottsdale, AZ. She was a long time resident of Tucson. AZ. Sharon was born to Robert and Virginia Ruhl on July 6, 1941, in Fort Wayne Indiana, where she grew up. She attended Indiana University as a Rhodes Scholar, and earned her BA and MA, Comparative Literature. An outgoing and social person, she was a Member of Tri Delta sorority and Phi Beta Kappa.
After college, Sharon moved to Tucson AZ, where she fell in love with the Sonoran Desert, and her husband, Paul Valmore Des Rosiers. They were married at the Elks Lodge in Tucson, had 3 daughters and remained happily married for over 20 years, until his death on August 25, 1989.
In addition to her marriage and her family, Sharon had a long and successful career in Computer Programming / Systems Analysis with the University of Arizona, from which she had retired.
Sharon was an avid reader and enjoyed solving puzzles. Of course, she enjoyed spending time with family and revealing her compassionate nature, she also loved all animals, especially dogs and cats.
Sharon’s family has remarked, “A friend has shared that “when you lose your mother your circle of admirers diminishes exponentially” – we find this to be true as we remember our mother as our biggest fan, able to empathize, guide and motivate us, all at once. She was a source of support, inspiration and most of all, unconditional love to her children and was a loving and proud Grandmother to her five grandchildren.”
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by two siblings, Judith Claire Ruhl O’Neill and Philip Calvin Ruhl; three daughters, Claire Marie DesRosiers Tasev (husband, Chris), Adele Victoria DesRosiers Coomes (husband, Jim), and Marie Louise DesRosiers Evans (husband, Clark); and 5 Grandchildren, Dominic Rivard, Drake and Ashley Tasev, Sophie and Beckett Evans.
Sharon will be laid to rest with her husband at East Lawn Palm Cemetery in Tucson, AZ, in a private ceremony.
Sharon loved animals and made an annual contribution to the Arizona Humane Society and Defenders of Wildlife. Please consider making a donation in her memory.
