Shirley was a very natural athlete. She was a competition skater in Pennsylvania and won many tournaments. Shirley was also a pre-med student and spoke Latin.
The family later moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she met Grant William Johnson and they married. Grant and Shirley taught ballroom dance at country clubs early in their marriage.
Shirley had two children. Cindy Lee and Lisa Jo.
Shirley went back to school and graduated Summa Cum Laude from ASU with a degree in Education. She taught modern dance, cheer and physical education at East High School. Later she became the Northern Regional Manager for International Health Spas.
In her retirement she was an amazing gardener in Northern California in a beautiful home on the coast that was featured in a tour of homes.
She was a very loved mother and grandmother. Shirley had a wonderful sense of humor and was so loving and fun to be with. She will be greatly missed
