What a terrible loss . Sonja was always such a bright light in our day here.  Every time she came for her appointment she was always smiling even though she wasn't inside.  She was very strong very kind and loving person.  We shared many moments together in her treatment. We will truly miss her and wish her family prayers in this time.   God has a new Angel and her name is Sonya.  I know she has beautiful wings

It must have been Sonya's love of tea or the symbolism of a hummingbirds way of joyfully floating through the air outside of time, standing in the light, and staying present in the moment that drew Sonya to the tearoom. Over the seven years, we've got to know each other, our talks ranged from food to gardening to our families and to solving the world's problems but always, always ending with laughter. 

Sonya has sipped many many teas but has never veered from the one item - apple cheddar salad :). She would change it up by adding either a quiche or soup but never without the apple cheddar. 

I will miss Sonya terribly, not seeing her sitting outside chatting to her husband Ed, or her daughters Larysa and Nicole or her friends saddens me. We will miss her kind and graceful beauty, her words of encouragement but most of all her inner strength.  My deepest condolences to Ed, Larysa, Nicole and the rest of Sonya's family and friends.



There’s something to be said for the friends you’ve had since childhood – the friends who knew you when you were an angsty teenager, who watched you make questionable decisions and who forgave you for, and called you out on, your nonsense.  Sonya was that friend for me.  

When I think of the times we spent together there are so many that run together.  Most of my favorite memories are of the ordinary, everyday things we did.  I remember tooling around with Sonya in her car with the windows rolled down and the music waaaaay up… I remember summer days at the lake where Sonya tanned and I sunburned… I remember she loved Spree candy and Toblerone chocolate bars… I remember how her entire body would shake when she laughed... I remember her rocking her white Candies platform sandals … I remember how endlessly curious she was … I remember that Sonya was the person who went with me to shop for a wedding dress…  I remember how much she loved to dance.

As adults we drifted in and out of each other’s lives and it’s one of my biggest regrets that I didn’t do a better job of keeping in touch.  I always thought we had so much time.  Sonya made it easy to be her friend.  With her there was an ease with which we could pick up right where we left off no matter how much time had passed– an ease that happens in the best of friendships and only with those who you hold closest in your heart.  I miss my amazing friend but am so grateful and lucky to have had her in my life.  My deepest condolences to Ed, Larysa, Nicole and the rest of Sonya’s family and friends.



Sonja will be missed by her many friends and relatives. Our thoughts and prayers are with  your family at this very sad time. Sonja was always kind and generous to our family and always included us in the special holidays and events in your family life. Her kindness will always be appreciated.  A life well lived. My deepest condolences to Sonya's family.  Though I have not seen Sonya since our carefree days at Biglerville High School.  I will always have fond memories of Sonya's easy going and happy demeanor.  I pray for comfort to you all.          

Always a bright and bubbly girl and woman, with a multitude of interests and talents.
My lovely daughter would find ways of making her loved ones and friends feel special:  often sending gorgeous cards, giving painstakingly chosen gifts, taking them to a special event or restaurant.  I was often the recipient of many of these blessings, which have become deeply cherished memories.
I will forever be proud of the woman, wife, and mother she became.
She will be deeply missed by all of us.


My heart goes out to you Larysa and your family. I'm hoping your memories of you and your mom will sustain you during this difficult time. You are such a delight so much that I can't imagine you sad. I sincerely hope you can get back to yourself in time but no worries many of your co-workers will be here to lift you up.

Of course, being Sonya's brother, we shared quite a few memories.  I will never forget the fun we had as children and all the conversations we had about our childhood, as adults.  I have always looked up to her and was so proud that she was my sister and always will be.
