Though six years younger than Steel, I vividly remember his extended stay with us when he was in high school and the impact his friendship had on Michael. Steel was a great friend to Michael and Michael to Steel.  They were more than friends- they were allies and in a family of 10, that’s an important role to fill. Steel went on the Magnifico (a chartered yacht) to Mexico and boating on Lake Englebright.   We all miss those days and our time with Steel. 

I will always treasure the times that Steel and I shared, living as roommates during our senior year of high school and playing tennis at the Peach Tree Country Club on summer evenings.  He was a sweet man, and though I have not seen him for many years, I miss him still.  

I am so sorry to read of Steel's passing.  We were very close friends while attending USC in the 1970's.  I have many fond memories of fun experiences that we shared throughout our four years there.
I regret losing contact with him.   Steel was an honorable and caring person!
