It’s your birthday again, I’m a mess again… the part that I hate the most is not having a bunch of pictures. We don’t get any new pictures of you now, we just keep sharing old pictures.

I miss you, I know your children miss you, your siblings miss you too … I wish I could see you and apologize again for the way that we acted. We should’ve just cherished you, we should’ve just loved every second we had with you.

I can’t believe it’s been four years… 

I don’t ever forget about you … sometimes it’s just hard to come here. I miss your tiny self so much kid. 

Carolyn, I send my truly heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I am so heartbroken and sad to have found you and that little princess this way. She was a special little girl and now she sits next to God as an angel to watch over you and the rest of your family.  Here is a memory to take you back. Even though she’s not here, still love you girls.

There’s this group of kids in town... Maybe 19-24 ... They have been here multiple times and always hang at my hotel/bar ... They come in to see their friend who had cancer, such a good group of friends. The kid passed ... the funeral was today .. they’re sulking around the hotel in pink tees in remembrance ... We had some amazing talks & they all wanted to hear about you & shared stories about him ... One boy sat at the bar while I cleaned up until after 3am ... Asking questions, asking for stories and just talking with me about you. When he left he said, “Never forget you had a beautiful daughter” ... I never will. I miss you so much and I’m so sorry that we couldn’t find a way to just do right by you and love you completely.... You are forever in my heart kiddo.

I commissioned a portrait of your boys, I got one of you a few months back. She’s so talented.... I wish I could see y’all in real life. Merry Heavenly Christmas Kiddo, you are missed. 

Happy Birthday Bitz, we miss you so much... I love you and I hope your boys honor you today, I know they miss you so much too.

When people ask me how many kids I have I still say 3... I even give them what would have been your current age, talk about my grands that I don’t & won’t see... Talk about you. I wish this had gone differently and I wish you were still here, my very first true, true love... The most beautiful girl in the world, I love you Bitty Bitz ... I miss you. My heart hurts today ... It’s been one year and it hurts like it’s been one day. Rest peacefully Kiddo, Mommy loves you.
