Steve grew up in Oak Lawn, Illinois with his three siblings David, Gary, and Sandy. After graduating from Richards High School, he joined the United States Marine Corps and was later honorably discharged on April 13th 1977. Steve later moved to Arizona where he met the love of his life Maria and they married on July 23rd 2004. He became a very dedicated step-father to Maria’s daughter, Carol and later a “Papa” to his granddaughter, Alora.
Steve was a man of many trades and conquered many professions in his life. He was a hair dresser and owned his own salon in Chicago. He was an audio/video technician and traveled throughout the U.S. for concerts and conferences. Steve later became a realtor and found joy in helping families find a home.
Steve had an immense passion for music and would spend his days writing and recording songs. He enjoyed the outdoors and was very patriotic and loyal to his country. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and finding even the smallest reason to celebrate, dance, and have a good time. He loved spending time with his favorite “buddy” and granddaughter, Alora and would teach her all about music.
Steve would always make people laugh with his jokes and sense of humor. The best quality about Steve was that he truly enjoyed helping people. He was always in a joyous mood and would find the good in everything. Anyone who knows Steve would say they are lucky to have him in their life. He will be missed dearly and his memories will stay with us forever.
A memorial for family and friends is to be held at Shadow Mountain Mortuary on Saturday, July 16th, at 1100am. Steve’s wife, Maria, would like to say thank you to all those who have supported her and her family in this time.
