    Hobbies and Interests:
Sue hobbies/interests included adding to her Clown and Beanie Babies collections, reading books and magazines scrap booking and working crossword puzzles. She loved all of Neil Diamond's songs, Sinatra's “My Way”, Stevie Wonder's “I just called to say I love you”, nearly all of George Strait's songs and Myron Florin's Clarinet Polka. Disneyland was her favorite place to visit. Cindy, her dog for ten years, provided her with extreme happiness.
She cherished trips to Ohio and Indiana to see her brothers and families and to Minnesota to see my friends and relatives. She was amazed at what she saw at the Hinckley, Minnesota Fire Museum. She also enjoyed many sites and places to visit along the way up and back. She was awed by the giant Redwoods in California. Sue loved the Space Needle in Seattle where we ate dinner and was viewed by the helicopter hovering outside the window next to our table.            
 Sue got to visit at least 10 favorite Western National parks including the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Bryce Canyon, Crater Lake, Zion, National Volcanic, Sequoia and Mesa Verde. 
She met personally with famous celebrities such as Red Skelton, Neil Diamond, Wayne Newton, Peter Paul & Mary, Emmett Kelly Jr. and, of course, me.
Sue helped type the monthly German America newsletter for me for two years while I was President.  She helped bar-tend when they needed her. Sue helped the girls with homework for years. She volunteered on school projects at Roadrunner School with certificates to prove it. 
The funniest thing that ever happened was when I went on a company business trip back to Massachusetts for Sperry.  Upon my departure for home, the supplier presented me with a live BIG lobster packaged in a protective container to take home. When I arrived home, I told Sue and the kids that it contained some precious metal parts for Sperry. I asked if they wanted to see them and all agreed. I carefully opened the box and removed the lobster from their view. Then I abruptly put it in view,  Sue and the kids let out deafening screams and ran. Cindy became completely ballistic. It seamed like hours before they all settled down.
This is just a small briefing of the happenings and support she's given me and others during her short lifetime.
In conclusion, those family members that said our marriage would never last because of our 24 year age difference, they were right! It only lasted for 35½ years which ended much to soon.
Sue and I bickered occasionally but she never stopped loving me and I never stopped loving her as well. She was a simple person that never asked for much for herself. She cared for others more than she cared for herself.  She was eternally grateful for everything I did for her.  I will miss her so very much for the rest of my life.

Sue's Memorial Presentation by her Loving Husband
I will try to get through this without braking down. On this sad occasion I'm going to speak about mostly happy things associated with our 35 Â½ years of time together.
Sue was born in Akron, Ohio on January 21, 1959 following the births of her 4 brothers, Michael, Danny, Bob and Bill.
Sue, her Mom and brother Michael moved to Arizona in the early seventies because of her Mom's arthritis. Sue continued her schooling here until at the tender age of seventeen when she decided to latch onto me.
We met at the Phoenix German American Society where Brother Mike worked in the kitchen. Our first date was on February 14th, 1976 at Crazy Ed's, a restaurant with great food and a loud band. I was well known as I went there several days a week for lunch from across the street at Sperry where I worked. There was a flirty waitress that always kissed and hugged me.  That night she welcomed me as usual. Sue nearly decked her! The date turned out just fine. 
We were married in Phoenix on June 15th, 1976. We honeymooned at Disneyland and its hotel for three days. Sue just loved Disneyland! We vacationed there every year for nearly 25 years thereafter. It was her favorite place to visit to visit.
We lived in a nice apartment in Glendale until I found a fix-up home with a pool in Phoenix in October, 1976 for an economical price. When I took her to see it for the first time, she burst into tears. She could not understand why I would buy such a dump! I told her that it was well constructed by the best builder in Phoenix and is located in a nice well kept and established neighborhood. For nearly three years I worked to fix up the house like new. Sue gradually began to love the home with all of her heart. 
Sue gave me two beautiful daughters. Jenni was born April 17, 1977 and Stacey 10 years later on July 30, 1987. Jenni came 2 Â½ months early because of a problem with Sue's Gallbladder. She was born in the Maryville hospital and transferred immediately to St. Joe's because they had the facilities to care for preemies. Jenni was there for 10 days until I helped feeding her enough to come home dressed in doll clothes. She weighed just a few ounces less than 4 pounds. Stacey was born July 30, 1987 at Lincoln North Mountain Hospital. She was born at normal weight but under adverse conditions as well. Sue was suffering with a major cold at the time. However, both girls turned out to be just fine. Jenni gave us our first grandson. Baby Jack was born and died on August 2nd, 2009.  He was delivered at home around 11:00 a.m. and he breathed for about 2 hours.  He was 19.5 inches long and weighed 12 ounces, about the weight of a can of Coke. Jenni and Lee were devastated as well as Sue and me. On September 1, 2009, Stacey presented Sue and me with a beautiful grandson, Gabriel. He was an extreme joy for Sue. She held, babysat and fed him for nearly a year before she became too weak to do so. Sue dearly loved that boy with all of her heart and insisted that Stacey present her with a load of pictures to treasure.

Dear Jim, Family, and Friends,

It is with great sadness that I try to write the words about the loss of my only sister. 
  Susan...When you were little you spent most of your time wrapped around mom's leg or visiting grandma with mom. Grandma loved you so much! As you got older you still stayed close to mom but you figured out that you could do anything and blame it on brother Mike...Because mom knew that little " Miss Suska " would never misbehave!
I'm sure you remember how tough things were for all of us and it seemed to really affect you when mom and dad separated and Grandma passed away. There followed a lot of sad and difficult years.The one constant for you was loving Jim and your girls!! It was wonderful that the last few years finally brought you restful peace and happiness. We won't be able to make more memories with you but we will always remenber you. 
When you see them, tell mom and dad and uncle Frank we said hi!! and that we miss them too!!!
